>> Taylor: Hello and welcome to Doomed to Fail. I'm Taylor and along with my co.

>> Taylor: Host Fars, we bring you history's most notorious disasters and epic failures. We have over 200 episodes and I wanted to give you a couple that.

>> Taylor: Have the same theme.

>> Taylor: So we have a small group this week that I'm going to highlight for you. But these are stories about animals and.

>> Taylor: We have three episodes that specifically are about animals. And we start with episode 47 about the passenger pigeon. So when the Europeans first came to the United States area, there were so many passenger pigeons and think like a pigeon, just think like a pigeon, but a little bit longer neck than like the ones you see at Home Depot, you know what I mean? And they were so. There was just so many of them. I can't even explain it and I can't even really picture it myself, but there were billions. They would flock over your house and they, you. They would block out the sun for an hour. There were so many of them and we just killed them and ate them and used their feathers into absolute extinction. And there aren't anymore. The last one was named Martha.

>> Taylor: She died like 100 years ago.

>> Taylor: So that's wild. And then episode 179 is about Hachiko. And if you are a dog person, you would know this is the story of the dog in Japan whose owner went to work and did not come home. And the dog went to the train station every day waiting for them to. To comeback. It is a movie called Hachi with Richard Gere.

>> Taylor: And I only laugh because we tease.

>> Taylor: My mom about having loving that movie.

>> Taylor: Because you know moms, they love Richard.

>> Taylor: Gere and they love, they love, they love Hachi and Hachiko. So that's episode 179.

>> Taylor: And then a recent episode, episode 215.

>> Taylor: Was about whale entrapment so far as.

>> Taylor: Tells us a story about a couple.

>> Taylor: Of very specific times that whales get stuck in like a part of the ice where they can breathe, but then they, they can't get out and they cannot move any further and the ice is sort of trapping them. It's called will entrapment.

>> Taylor: That's what it is. So look up those three episodes anywhere you listen to podcasts, wherever you're listening.

>> Taylor: Right now, just use a search or on YouTube.

>> Taylor: We are there as well. Thank you so much for listening and if you have any questions or ideas.
